Uganda and Lord Resistance Army are to sign a final peace Agreement, on April 5th, 2005, in Juba, Southern Sudan.

The final peace agreement that is a compilation of the past agreements is deemed to end a 21- year-old war, and peace talk that have lasted 20 months.

President Yoweri Museveni is to represent the government of Uganda, and Joseph Kony is to sign in behalf of the LRA.

In case Kony does not come for the signing, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of Uganda government delegates to the Juba talks said, “It will not jeopardise the signing of the peace deal, and the government of Uganda will accept under credible people witnessing his signature in Rikwangba, though not desirable.”

So far, the Uganda and LRA have extended the cessation of hostilities to 6th April next month to enable the signing.

Immediately after the signing of the peace deal, the implementation process is to take root in respect to the agreed precepts.
